State BJP Chief’s Role Secure: Party Backs Vijayendra’s Leadership in Karnataka
Bengaluru: BJP General Secretary in charge of Karnataka affairs, Radha Mohan Das Agarwal, has affirmed that State BJP President BY Vijayendra will continue to lead the party in Karnataka.
Speaking to reporters after the BJP’s core committee meeting on Saturday, Agarwal emphasized that decisions regarding leadership changes rest solely with the party’s grassroots cadre or the central leadership. “The state unit head cannot be replaced merely based on the demands of individual leaders. Considering the party’s requirements and organizational strength, Vijayendra has been deemed suitable to lead the state unit, and the responsibility has been entrusted to him,” Agarwal stated.
When questioned about internal differences within the party, particularly involving Vijayapura MLA Basangouda Patil Yatnal, Agarwal dismissed claims of significant discord. “The party remains united. There is no ‘Yatnal vs Vijayendra’ or ‘Yatnal vs BJP’ situation. The issue is not as serious as it is being portrayed,” he clarified.
Agarwal further noted that a show-cause notice has already been issued to Yatnal, who has yet to respond. “The party will decide on any further action based on his reply,” he added.
